Multiple Infrastructure Projects Inaugurated in Semkhor, Busu Festival Celebrated with Grandeur

Haflong Feb 12: Several key infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity and strengthening community facilities across the region were inaugurated on Thursday at Semkhor about 90 km from Haflong under the leadership of  Debolal Gorlosa,  Chief Executive Member (CEM), Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC).

The programme witnessed the inauguration of the Bhaikho at Diphubra, unveiling of newly constructed steps for Semdikhor at Semkhor-I, the CDC Boundary Wall at Diphubra, Madaikho at Semkhor Hading, and the Hanging Bridge at Semkhor-I. These projects are expected to significantly enhance accessibility, safety, and overall development of the area, benefiting local residents.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Gorlosa подчерк emphasised the council’s commitment to balanced development, improved connectivity, and the upliftment of remote villages. He said that such projects play a vital role in bridging gaps and bringing essential services closer to the people.

Following the inauguration programme, Gorlosa also participated in the grand Busu Celebration Festival at Semkhor. The festival showcased the rich cultural heritage of the region, marked by traditional rituals, folk performances, and enthusiastic participation of villagers, reflecting unity and communal harmony.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Mohet Hojai, Chairman, DHAC, Dhriti Thaosen, President BJP & MAC, DHAC; Smt. Probita Johori, EM, DHAC; Biswajit Daulagupu, EM, DHAC;  Herojit Jidung, MAC, DHAC; Monjoy Langthasa, MAC, DHAC;  Ratan Jarambusa, MAC, DHAC, along with other dignitaries, local leaders, and well-wishers.

The day-long programme concluded on a festive note, reinforcing the administration’s focus on inclusive development while preserving the cultural identity of the region.
