Elaborate Election Preparedness Underway in Dima Hasao

The Dima Hasao District Administration has stepped up elaborate preparations to ensure free, fair, and peaceful conduct of the upcoming election to the 113 (ST) Haflong constituency. Authorities have taken comprehensive measures, ranging from training of polling officials to facilitation of postal ballots, underscoring their commitment to smooth electoral management.

A large pandal has been erected at the premises of the District Commissioner’s office to accommodate election officials for training sessions and polling duty arrangements. The administration has also set up multiple facilitation centres to streamline the voting process for absentee voters and those engaged in essential duties.

As part of the electioneering process, postal ballot facilities have been organized at different centres and dates:

• April 4, 2026: Facilitation Centre at Haflong Government College (10 AM – 5 PM) exclusively for polling officials.
• April 5–6, 2026: Postal Voting Centre at the DC office (9 AM – 5 PM) for absentee voters on essential duties.
• April 5–8, 2026: Facilitation Centre at Police Reserve Conference Hall (10 AM – 5 PM).
• April 6–8, 2026: Facilitation Centre at DC office (10 AM – 5 PM) for voters engaged in election duty who applied through Form 12.

District administration fficials emphasized that all possible steps are being taken to maintain law and order during the election period. Security arrangements, logistical support, and voter facilitation measures are being coordinated to guarantee a peaceful polling environment.
