Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma Sworn in as Assam Chief Minister

Guwahati, May 12: Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Assam at a grand ceremony held at the College of Veterinary Science playground, Khanapara, on Tuesday. Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Dr. Sarma in the presence of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and several senior ministers.

Alongside the Chief Minister, the Governor also administered the oath to four other ministers — Rameswar Teli, Atul Bora, Charan Boro, and Smt. Ajanta Neog.

The ceremony witnessed the attendance of prominent dignitaries including Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, as well as Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from across the country. Foreign envoys and a host of other distinguished guests also graced the occasion, marking the event as a significant political moment for Assam.
