Debolal Gorlosa Completes 10 Years as NCHAC Chief Executive Member

Haflong, June 10: A grand function was held at the newly inaugurated District Library Auditorium Hall in Haflong on Wednesday to mark the completion of 10 years of service of Shri Debolal Gorlosa as the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC).
Addressing the gathering, Gorlosa expressed gratitude to the people of Dima Hasao and thanked all communities for their support throughout his tenure. He particularly acknowledged the people of Dehangi constituency for their trust and confidence in his leadership.
Calling for unity among all communities of the district, the CEM urged residents to work together for the overall development of Dima Hasao. He also paid tribute to departed colleagues, including former MACs Subrata Thaosen and Samuel Changsan.
Reflecting on the district’s transformation over the past decade, Gorlosa said Dima Hasao was once known for political and law-and-order challenges, but sustained efforts had helped place the district on the path of peace and development. He reiterated his commitment to improving road connectivity, infrastructure and public services, while assuring that employment opportunities would continue to be provided on merit.
He further informed that several new development projects are in the pipeline and appealed to citizens to actively participate in the district’s progress.
Speaking on the occasion, NCHAC Chairman Mohet Hojai recalled the difficult situation prevailing in Dima Hasao in 2016 and credited Gorlosa’s leadership for bringing stability and development to the district. He expressed confidence that the district would continue to achieve greater milestones in the coming years.
MLA Rupali Langthasa congratulated Gorlosa on completing a decade as CEM and wished him good health and success. Describing him as her mentor and inspiration, she highlighted achievements in the education sector, stating that improved academic performance in the district reflected the administration’s focus on educational development.
She also lauded several initiatives undertaken during the period, including youth-led cleanliness drives, monthly stipends for Gaonburas and the CEM’s personal monitoring of development projects across the district.
The programme was attended by Executive Members, Members of Autonomous Council (MACs), Principal Secretaries, heads of government departments, representatives of apex bodies, village headmen and student organisations from across Dima Hasao
