ANANTA BARTHAKUR OF MORIGAON RECEIVES ASSAM GOVERNMENT’S STATE SPORTS AWARD FOR BEST COACH

Hills Live News, Morigaon, September 6: Ananta Barthakur, supervisor and chief coach of the Kayaking and Canoeing Training Institute located on the banks of the historic Charan Beel in Morigaon, has been honoured with the Assam Government’s State Sports Award for Best Coach.
The award was presented to Barthakur by Assam Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Biswajit Daimary at the State Sports Day function held in Guwahati. He was handed a certificate of recognition for Best Coach, signed by Sports and Youth Welfare Director Ankur Bharali.
Born at Kalugaon in Sivasagar district, Ananta Barthakur joined the Kayaking and Canoeing Training Institute near Morigaon town as its chief coach in 2007.
Under his strong leadership and guidance, trainees of the institute have so far won 22 gold, 31 silver and 60 bronze medals at the national level, bringing considerable recognition to Morigaon and the State.
