All Polling Teams Reach Stations in Dima Hasao Ahead of April 9 Polls

Haflong, April 8: In a smooth pre-poll exercise, all 261 teams comprising polling officials and security personnel have safely reached their designated polling stations across Dima Hasao district by this evening.

Voters in the district will cast their votes tomorrow, April 9, from 7 AM to 5 PM in the 113 (ST) Haflong Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC). The District Election Officer has assured that all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful polling process.

The contest has drawn significant attention, with candidates from the BJP, Congress, and NPP in the fray, making it a closely watched electoral battle in this tribal-reserved constituency.

Polling officials, many of whom travelled to remote and difficult locations, expressed satisfaction with the arrangements. “This election duty is a memorable experience and a proud opportunity to serve the nation,” said one team member.

Officials at a pink polling station also expressed confidence in their preparedness, stating that they are fully capable of conducting the polling process efficiently, on par with their male counterparts.
