New DC Gayatri Devidas Hyalinge Assumes Charge in Dima Hasao, Seeks Public Cooperation

Gayatri Devidas Hyalinge officially assumed charge as the new District Commissioner of Dima Hasao on Monday and appealed to the people of the district to extend their cooperation in ensuring smooth administration and peaceful elections.

Hyalinge, an IAS officer of the 2019 batch, took over the charge from the outgoing DC Munindra Nath Ngatey, who has been posted as Additional Secretary to the Government of Assam in the Health and Family Welfare Department.

Prior to her new posting, Hyalinge served as Junior Secretary to the Government of Assam in the Finance Department.

Soon after assuming office, the new District Commissioner held a meeting with representatives of various political parties regarding the upcoming Assam Assembly elections. She also conducted discussions with different cell in-charges and reviewed the district’s preparedness for the polls.

Later in the day, Hyalinge interacted with media persons and expressed optimism about her new role. She said she was happy to be posted in Dima Hasao and described the people of the hill district as warm and welcoming. She added that she looks forward to working closely with the people and all stakeholders for the development and smooth functioning of the district administration.

The DC also expressed confidence that with the cooperation of the public and all concerned, the forthcoming elections in the district will be conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner.
