Polling teams leaves for remote stations today

Diphu April 7: Twenty-one polling teams left for remote stations two days ahead of poll today, personnel assigned to 21 polling stations located in remote and hilly areas across three LACs of Karbi Anglong district departed for their respective polling stations today.
The teams left two days ahead of the scheduled poll from Diphu Government College, particularly, the teams departed amid light rainfall. Seeing off the polling teams, District Election Officer Aranyak Saikia wished them a safe journey and success in the discharge of their duties.
Addressing the personnel, he remarked, “Your journey may be difficult, but your dedication and sense of duty form the foundation of free and fair elections.”
Describing polling personnel as the backbone of democracy, he expressed confidence that their efforts would ensure that every eligible citizen gets the opportunity to cast their vote. Above all, these 21 polling stations fall under Bokajan, Howraghat, and Diphu LAC.
General Observer S. Sivarasu, along with the District Election Officer of Karbi Anglong, Aranyak Saikia, reviewed the distribution and receipt process of election materials and EVMs, and the exit arrangements of polling personnel at Diphu Government College.
During the visit, the Observer carried out a detailed inspection of all functional cells set up at the distribution centre and interacted with the officials engaged in the process.
He emphasized the need for seamless coordination among all teams and instructed officials to ensure prompt and systematic distribution and receipt of election materials so that polling personnel do not face any inconvenience during the collection and submission of essential items.
The Observer also stressed on the importance of maintaining proper documentation, and adherence to established protocols.
