DHAC Handover Appointment Letters to 31 Outstanding Football Players in Haflong

Haflong, Jan 23:

 In a significant step towards promoting sports at the grassroots level, the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC), under the leadership of the Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa, on Friday handed over appointment letters to 31 outstanding football players of the district.

The beneficiaries included the best player of the CEM’s Cup, the two best players of the MAC Cup, and 28 best players from the Inter-Polling Football Tournament. The initiative is aimed at strengthening sports culture in Dima Hasao and motivating young people to take up sports as a positive and disciplined path, steering them away from negative influences.

The ceremonial distribution of appointment letters was held in the presence of Deputy Chairman, DHAC, Amin Leinthang; Dima Hasao Prabhari Vijay Kumar Gupta; Dima Hasao District BJP President and MAC  Dhriti Thaosen; and Executive Members Probita Johori, Samuel Changsan,  Niranjan Hojai,  Paudaming Nriame,  Manjit Naiding,  Biswajit Daulagupu, and  Zosumthang Hmar. Several Members of the Autonomous Council, including Monjoy Langthasa, Smt. Rupali Langthasa, Ratan Jarambusa, Projith Hojai, Lalremsiama Darnei, Herojit Jidung,  Pronath Rajiyung, Noah Daime,  John Phoitong, and Ramgalungbe Jeme were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, CEM Gorlosa reiterated its commitment to nurturing local talent and providing institutional support to sportspersons, particularly from rural and remote areas of the district.

As part of the day’s programme, a friendly football match between CEM’s XI and Chairman’s XI was organised at Sengya Sambhudhan Phonglo Mlaoyam, Haflong. The game was jointly organised by the District Sports and Youth Welfare Department and the General Administration Department, DHAC, adding a celebratory note to the occasion and underscoring the Council’s focus on sports and youth engagement in Dima Hasao.
