UPPL Releases First List of Candidates for BTC Assembly Seats

KOKRAJHAR, March 16: The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) has announced its first list of candidates for the forthcoming Assembly elections. The party will contest in 15 constituencies and names of seven candidates were declared at a press conference held at the UPPL headquarters in Kokrajhar today night.

The list includes several prominent figures. Current Kokrajhar MLA Lawrence Islary has been renominated, while Aninda Basumatary will contest from Gossaigaon. Nereshon Boro has been fielded from Bhergaon, and party president Promod Boro will contest from Tamulpur. Former ABSU president Dipen Boro has been named for Udalguri, party secretary Raju Kumar Narzary for Dotma and three-time MLA Kamalsing Narzary for Bijni.

Addressing the media, UPPL general secretary Raju Kumar Narzary said the party is confident of securing a strong mandate.
