Ex-Army Servicemen Felicitate Newly Recruited Agniveers in Haflong

Haflong, June 17: In a bid to encourage local youths to pursue careers in the armed forces, ex-servicemen of Dima Hasao organized a felicitation programme in Haflong on Wednesday to honour newly recruited Agniveers from the district.

The programme was held to recognize the achievements of the successful recruits and inspire other young aspirants to join the Indian Armed Forces. Ex-servicemen highlighted the importance of discipline, dedication, and patriotism, urging the youth of Dima Hasao to take advantage of the opportunities available through the Agnipath scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, the organizers said the event was aimed not only at felicitating the new Agniveers but also at creating awareness among young people about career prospects in the defence services. They emphasized the need for proper guidance, physical fitness, and regular training to prepare for recruitment examinations and selection processes.

The ex-servicemen further informed that they would continue to mentor and guide aspiring candidates from the district through training sessions, counselling, and awareness programmes. They expressed hope that more youths from Dima Hasao would come forward to serve the nation and bring pride to the district.

The newly recruited Agniveers were felicitated with traditional honours and congratulated for their achievement. The programme witnessed the participation of ex-servicemen, local residents, youth aspirants, and well-wishers, who applauded the efforts to motivate and support the younger generation.
