Senior Journalist Dalim Phukan to Be Honoured by Paresh Baishya Foundation

Haflong, September 12: Senior journalist of Central Assam, Dalim Phukan, will be honoured with the Best Journalist Award by the Paresh Baishya Foundation at an august programme to be held at the Guwahati Press Club on September 15.
Phukan, who has completed 37 years in journalism, is a dedicated and experienced journalist with a long association with the media fraternity of Assam. He has been associated with the Press Trust of India (PTI), All India Radio and The Assam Tribune, and is presently involved with the national desk of these media organisations.
He is also the Assam Correspondent of the national daily The Indus Valley Times, published from Bhubaneswar, Kolkata and Ranchi. Besides, he serves as a Senior Correspondent of The Hills Live, published from Haflong.
Apart from his journalistic career, Phukan has authored two valuable books, for which he received the Literary Award of the Government of Assam in 2005. He was also awarded the Media Fellowship by the Government of Assam in 2008 in recognition of his contribution to journalism.
At present, Phukan is serving as a Professor of Practice at Morigaon College (Autonomous), where he continues to share his professional experience and knowledge with students.
The Paresh Baishya Foundation’s decision to honour Phukan is being viewed as a recognition of his long and dedicated contribution to journalism, literature and media education in Assam.
