KAAC Invites Applications for CEM’s Excellence Award for Development Journalism

Hills Live News, Diphu, September 18: The Information & Public Relations Department of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) has invited applications from media persons for the CEM’s Excellence Award for Development Journalism, instituted to recognise outstanding contributions to constructive and development-oriented journalism in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong.
The award seeks to recognise excellence in constructive journalism that contributes to regional growth and development. Media professionals working in print, electronic and digital news media are eligible to apply, provided they have a minimum of five years of professional experience.
According to the announcement, two awards will be presented annually. Each award carries a cash prize of ₹50,000, along with a citation and memento.
Applicants have been asked to submit five sets of the prescribed application form, along with the required deliverables, to the Deputy Director, IPR (Hills), KAAC, Rongkimi, Diphu.
The last date for submission is October 14, 2026.
The department has also provided a QR code through which applicants can access the guidelines, application form and eligibility requirements. Queries regarding the award may be sent to iprdkaac@gmail.com.
The initiative is expected to encourage media professionals to focus on development issues and highlight constructive stories contributing to the social and economic progress of the Karbi Anglong region.
