Hills Live News,Haflong October 29: Dima Hasao bid a tearful farewell to Liton Chakrabarty, Vice-President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Dima Hasao district committee, as a large number of people from different communities, irrespective of caste, creed and religion, gathered at Mahur on Wednesday night to pay their last respects to the departed leader.
The gathering reflected the widespread respect and affection Chakrabarty had earned during his lifetime. His demise has left a deep void among party colleagues, friends, well-wishers and the people who knew him.
Expressing profound grief over his demise, the BJP Dima Hasao district president recalled his association with Chakrabarty and described working alongside him as Vice-President of the district committee as a cherished part of his political journey.
In an emotional tribute, the district president Dhriti Thaosen said that words fell short of expressing the pain of losing a close colleague and friend. He said he had never imagined that a day would come when he would have to bid Chakrabarty a final goodbye.
“Your absence leaves a void that can never be filled. You may have departed from this world, Dada, but your memories will forever remain with us,” he said in his heartfelt message.
The final farewell at Mahur stood as a poignant reminder of the bonds of friendship, camaraderie and goodwill that Chakrabarty had built across communities.
