APDCL Organises 5 Public Awareness Camps in Morigaon for PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

BY DALIM PHUKAN, MORIGAON, OCT 7: As part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Jana Sewa Yatra—marking 25 years of public service—the Morigaon Circle of Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd. (APDCL) organized five Public Awareness Camps across the district today to promote the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
The awareness meetings were held concurrently at five key locations: Jagiroad, Jhargaon, Charaibahi, Morigaon, and Lahorighat. Thousands of local residents, top officials from APDCL, and representatives from various commercial banks actively participated in the events.
During the sessions, APDCL engineers detailed the features and benefits of the rooftop solar scheme, which aims to provide free electricity to households while encouraging green energy adoption. Officials emphasized that the camps were specifically organized to bridge the gap between beneficiaries, power department authorities, and banking institutions, ensuring smooth coordination for hassle-free processing of loan applications and subsidies.
