PM-Kisan 23rd Instalment Released Through Live Telecast at KVK Dima Hasao

Haflong, June 20: A programme marking the release of the 23rd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Scheme was held at the Skill Development Centre, Haflong, on Friday. The event was jointly organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Dima Hasao, and the District Agriculture Office, Dima Hasao.
A total of 116 beneficiaries participated in the programme and witnessed the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi releasing the latest instalment of PM-Kisan funds to farmers across the country.
PM-Kisan is one of the flagship welfare schemes of the Government of India aimed at providing financial support to eligible farmer families. Under the scheme, beneficiaries receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, ensuring transparency and timely assistance.
As part of the nationwide programme, the Prime Minister transferred ₹2,000 each to more than 9.44 crore farmers. The event also served as a platform to create awareness among farmers about various agricultural development initiatives and government welfare schemes.
Chairman of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC), Mohet Hojai, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Dhriti Thaosen, Member of Autonomous Council and In-charge of Agriculture, DHAC, was present as Guest of Honour, while Donpainon Thaosen, Executive Member, DHAC, also attended the event.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Ardhendu Chakraborty, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK Dima Hasao. District Agricultural Officer Mr. Jevin D. Changsan delivered a lecture highlighting the objectives and benefits of the PM-Kisan Scheme.
A ceremonial seed distribution programme under the National Mission on Edible Oils–Oilseeds (NMEO-OS) 2026-27 was also conducted by the Department of Agriculture, Dima Hasao, during the event.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mohet Hojai emphasized the importance of agricultural development and reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare and empowerment of farmers. Guest of Honour Dhriti Thaosen urged farmers to take advantage of various agricultural schemes and support mechanisms available to improve productivity and strengthen their livelihoods.
Among the dignitaries present were Amit Parbosa, Joint Secretary, Agriculture, DHAC; Dinendra Jahari, President of Kisan Morcha; Samir Chandra Roy, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Agriculture Department; and Somendra Longmailai, Chief Trustee of Keshav Smarak Nyas.
The programme was attended by Assistant Directors, Senior Agricultural Development Officers, Agriculture Development Officers, scientists of KVK Dima Hasao, and officials from various departments.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Shankar Gogoi, Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection), KVK Dima Hasao, while the proceedings were conducted by Mrs. Parkey Gogoi, Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture), KVK Dima Hasao.
