Six Hostages Found Dead After Massive Search Operation in Manipur

After nearly 24 hours of intensive search operations involving around 450 personnel from the Manipur Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Assam Rifles, the mortal remains of six persons were recovered on Wednesday afternoon.
The search operation, supported by sniffer dogs and forensic expert teams, was launched following reports of the abduction of several individuals from Leilon Vaiphei village on May 13, 2026. Authorities believe the deceased are among those who were taken hostage during the incident.
Officials stated that necessary legal formalities are currently being carried out by the police, while forensic examinations and identification procedures are underway.
