13 Candidates File Nominations in Morigaon Election District

Morigaon, March 23: A total of 10 candidates filed their nomination papers today for the three constituencies in the Morigaon election district. With this, the total number of candidates who have filed nominations reached 13 by the last day of submission of nominations.
Today, for the 52 No. Jagiroad (SC) constituency, Congress candidate Bubul Das filed his nomination. Similarly, for the 53 No. Lahorighat constituency, Congress candidate Asif Mohammad Nazar and Asom Gana Parishad candidate Mohammad Khalilur Rahman submitted their nomination papers. Independent candidates Haresha Khanam and Omar Faruk also filed nominations for the same constituency.
Meanwhile, for the 54 No. Morigaon constituency, Asom Jatiya Parishad candidate Banikanta Das and independent candidates Amalesh Medhi, Nikhil Dekaraja, Cheniram Konwar, and Pradip Baruah filed their nomination papers.
Earlier, on March 20, BJP candidate Pijush Hazarika had filed his nomination for the 52 No. Jagiroad (SC) constituency. For the 53 No. Lahorighat constituency, AIUDF candidate Siddique Ahmed, and for the 54 No. Morigaon constituency, BJP candidate Ramakanta Deuri had submitted their nomination papers.
It is worth mentioning that scrutiny of the nomination papers will be conducted tomorrow, March 24, and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is March 26.
