Dima Hasao Screens Nominations for Padma Awards 2027

Haflong, June 10: A district-level meeting was held at the office of the District Commissioner, Dima Hasao, on Wednesday to scrutinize and identify deserving candidates for nomination to the prestigious Padma Awards 2027.
The meeting was chaired by District Commissioner Smt. Gayatri Devidas Hyalinge, IAS, who led discussions on the contributions, achievements and services rendered by various individuals towards society in different fields.
Among those present were Additional District Commissioner Shaurya Sharma, ACS, Deputy Secretary of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) Sukanya Nunisa, ACS, Additional Superintendent of Police Faruque Ahmed, APS, and other district officials.
During the meeting, the committee carefully examined the nominations received and deliberated on the suitability of candidates based on their outstanding achievements, dedication to public service and contributions to social welfare. The exercise forms part of the process for recommending deserving individuals from the district for consideration for the Padma Awards 2027, one of the country’s highest civilian honours.
Officials emphasized the importance of recognizing individuals whose work has made a significant impact on society and contributed to the overall development and well-being of the community.
