Cleanliness Drive Organised in Morigaon to Mark Closing Ceremony of Year-long Birth Centenary Celebrations of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika

: As part of the closing ceremony of the year-long celebrations commemorating the birth centenary of Sudhakantha Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, a cleanliness drive was organised today at Maya Bazar, Morigaon, by the Morigaon Municipal Board under the aegis of the District Administration, Morigaon.

The cleanliness drive was undertaken with the objective of promoting sanitation, civic responsibility and collective participation among the public. The initiative also sought to commemorate the enduring legacy and values associated with Dr. Bhupen Hazarika through meaningful community-oriented action.

The drive was led by District Commissioner, Morigaon, Smt. Srishti Singh, IAS. Speaking on the occasion, the District Commissioner emphasized that honoring the memory of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika goes beyond cultural tributes, extending into active service toward a cleaner, healthier community. She appealed to the public to maintain civic discipline and uphold daily hygiene standards across the district.

Additional District Commissioners Shri Rakesh Deka, ACS, and Dr. Nilakhi Baishya, ACS; Assistant Commissioners Shri Subhankar Hore, ACS, and Smt. Mrigakhi Baruah, ACS; Executive Officer, Morigaon Municipal Board, Shri Dipankar Das, along with officials of the District Administration and Morigaon Municipal Board, participated in the cleanliness drive.
