Oldest Surviving Retired Teacher of Dima Hasao Honoured on Teachers’ Day

Hills Live News, Haflong, September 5: On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, District Commissioner of Dima Hasao, Smt. Gayatri Devidas Hyalinge, IAS, felicitated Smt. Ileile Jeme, regarded as the oldest surviving retired primary school teacher of the district, in recognition of her long and dedicated service to the field of education.

Jeme was honoured with the Governor of Assam Varishtha Shikshak Samman, acknowledging her decades of commitment to teaching and her contribution to shaping generations of students in Dima Hasao.

The felicitation was organised as a mark of respect and gratitude for her selfless service as an educator. Her contribution to the spread and development of education in the hill district was particularly appreciated.

The District Commissioner lauded the invaluable role played by teachers in building society and inspiring generations of students. The honour bestowed on Jeme was also seen as a tribute to the dedication of senior educators whose efforts have helped strengthen the educational foundation of the district.
