Hills Live News,Guwahati, October 29: A day after Raijor Dal demanded an investigation into allegations that large tracts of land were held at various locations in the name of the wife of ACS officer Munindra Nath Ngate, while also linking Dream Wave to the matter, proprietor of Dream Wave Studio, Bonjyoti Kaudinya, on Thursday termed the allegations baseless and false. Addressing a press conference at the Guwahati Press Club, Kaudinya alleged that the claims made by two Raijor Dal leaders were intended to tarnish his reputation in the public eye. He warned that legal action would be initiated against those responsible for making the allegations.
Clarifying his position, Kaudinya said Dream Wave Studio had no connection whatsoever with ACS officer Munindra Nath Ngate or his wife. He acknowledged that he had paid an advance to purchase a plot of land in Noonmati. However, he said he later learnt that the landowner had allegedly accepted advances from several people for the same property. He subsequently sought a refund, and when the owner failed to return the money, he approached the court for legal recourse. A case concerning the matter is currently pending before the Gauhati High Court, he said. He further clarified that the disputed plot did not belong to his studio.
Challenging the allegations regarding land holdings in the name of Dream Wave, Kaudinya asked the two Raijor Dal leaders to produce documentary evidence to substantiate their claims. He also asserted that there was no establishment named Dream Wave Construction, as alleged by the party. According to him, Dream Wave Studio is a cultural initiative involved in film production and the organisation of cultural programmes. However, he clarified that the name does not have separate registered-entity documents or a PAN card.
“I conduct business in my personal capacity. Where I buy or sell land is my personal matter. Why should that bother them? I am an Assamese youth who started from scratch and built my business through hard work. If I have done anything illegal, they are free to say so. But making false allegations against someone they barely know and causing mental distress is unacceptable,” Kaudinya said, expressing his resentment at the allegations.
Kaudinya reiterated that legal action would be initiated shortly against the Raijor Dal leaders over the allegations made against him.
