Renowned Former Assam Govt Officer Nagendra Nath Bhagawati Passes Away at 92

​Hills Live News, Guwahati, Sept 28: Nagendra Nath Bhagawati, a highly respected and dignified former Assam Government officer, passed away at the age of 92 yesterday. Originally hailing from Biswanath Chariali, he was a resident of Barnachal, Guwahati. He was married to the late Dr. Niva Bhagawati, a former Lecturer in the Department of History at Handique Girls’ College.

​Known for his self-pride, integrity, and strong principles, Late Bhagawati leaves behind a distinguished family legacy.

He is survived by his two sons—elder son Hemen Bhagawati (Bablu), a top-class engineer based in Kolkata, and younger son Don Anshuman Bhagawati, a former Ranji Trophy player, Director of the City Cricket Academy in Leicestershire (UK), and current consultant to the Assam Cricket Association.

The last rites and final cremation will take place today at the Navagraha Crematorium in Guwahati after 5:00 PM, following the arrival of his sons.
