Sacred ‘Mih Sengba’ Ritual of Dimasa Tribe Performed at Mahur

Haflong, April 25: The sacred ritual of the Dimasa tribe, known as Mih Sengba, was solemnly performed at Longmailai Daikho, the traditional worship site at Mahur in Dima Hasao district on Friday.
The deeply spiritual ceremony was conducted by the Jonthai Mah, the senior priest of the Dimasa community, invoking blessings for peace, well-being, and prosperity of the people. The ritual holds immense cultural and religious significance and reflects the enduring traditions, heritage, and spiritual beliefs of the Dimasa tribe.
A large number of people gathered to witness the ceremony, highlighting its importance within the community. Among those present were NCHAC Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa, Chairman Mohet Hojai, Members of Autonomous Council (MACs), along with local residents and devotees.
The arrangement once again underscored the strong cultural roots and collective faith of the Dimasa people, preserving age-old traditions for future generations.
