Tata Semiconductor Project to Transform Central Assam Economy: CM

Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Saturday that the Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test facility at Jagiroad is set to begin production in December and will bring significant economic transformation to Central Assam.
Speaking to the media at Jagiroad, Dr Sarma said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to formally inaugurate the semiconductor production facility.
Addressing an election campaign rally at Jagiroad, the Chief Minister said the Tata semiconductor project would play a major role in changing the economic landscape of Central Assam by generating employment and creating opportunities for ancillary industries and businesses.
Talking to reporters, Dr Sarma also expressed confidence that his party would win the Nagaon seat by a large margin.
