Noted Advocate of Morigaon Ramani Mohan Baruah is no more

Hills Live News, Morigaon, September 10: Noted advocate of Morigaon and distinguished writer Ramani Mohan Barua, a resident of Charaibahi in Morigaon district, passed away today after suffering from hypertension-related illness. He was 54. His untimely demise cast a pall of gloom over his native Charaibahi as well as the entire Morigaon district.
It may be mentioned that Barua had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Morigaon since September 8 after being affected by hypertension. He was later referred to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for advanced treatment, but succumbed to the illness while undergoing treatment.
A life time member of the Asam Sahitya Sabha, Ramani Mohan Barua practised law at the Morigaon Judicial court while simultaneously contributing to Assamese literature. He had authored six books and made a significant contribution to the literary field.
He was closely associated with the Charaibahi Branch of the Asam Sahitya Sabha, poets’ associations and various other social and cultural organisations.
As soon as his mortal remains reached his ancestral residence at Burha Gosai Than in Charaibahi today, a large number of admirers and well-wishers gathered to pay their last respects.
His death has been deeply mourned by the Morigaon District Sahitya Sabha, Morigaon District Bar Association,.Mahendra Nath Hazarika,President,Morigaon district senior citizens Association condoled the death of Baruah.He leaves behind his wife ,two daughters,one son and a host of relatives.
