Training Programme on Commissioning of EVM-VVPAT Held at Pobitora Haat

Hills Live News,Morigaon, Sept 26: A training programme for polling personnel on the commissioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) was conducted today at Pobitora Haat, Morigaon.

The capacity-building session was held under the supervision of the District Commissioner and District Election Officer Smt. Srishti Singh, IAS, to streamline poll preparedness for the upcoming 9-Nagaon HPC Bye-Election 2026.

The training programme was organised for the polling personnel and officials engaged in the election process, with the participation of all Zonal and Sector Officers and other officials associated with the conduct of the bye-election. It focused on ensuring proper understanding of the prescribed procedures and protocols for the commissioning of EVMs and VVPATs, with emphasis on accuracy, transparency and adherence to the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.

Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Shri Satyajit Chetia, ACS; Additional District Commissioner Dr. Nilakhi Baishya, ACS; and Assistant Commissioners Smt. Ankita Dutta, ACS, and Shri Subhankar Hore, ACS, were present during today’s training programme.
