Integrated Health Camp Inaugurated at Well & Good De-addiction cum Rehabilitation Centre in Morigaon

Morigaon, September 24: An Integrated Health Camp was inaugurated today at the Well & Good De-addiction cum Rehabilitation Centre in Morigaon. The camp is a collaborative initiative organized by the District Health Society, Morigaon, and the District Social Justice & Empowerment Department, Morigaon.
The inaugural programme was attended by Additional District Commissioner Dr. Nilakhi Baishya, ACS, who graced the event as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries in attendance included Dr. Sailendra Bordhan Bora, Joint Director of Health Services; Shri Bhupendra Bhattacharyya, District Social Welfare Officer; and Dr. Amar Jyoti Deka, District TB Officer-cum-District AIDS Control Officer.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Ankur Bora, Gender Specialist from the Social Welfare Department, Morigaon, emphasized the importance of providing accessible and comprehensive healthcare services to individuals undergoing rehabilitation and ensuring their access to preventive, diagnostic and counselling resources.
A multidisciplinary team drawn from various national health programmes conducted the screenings and counselling sessions. The team included Shri Paramesh Sarmah, TB Health Visitor; Smti Rimki Bhagawati, ICTC Counsellor; Smti Nimisha Hiru Bora, DMHP Counsellor; Shri Arman Ali, Smti Purabi Bharali and Shri Raj Choudhury, NMA, Leprosy Department; Shri Hiranya Kumar, ORW, SSK; and the 104 Sanjeevani VHOP team led by Shri Arup Kalita.
During the camp, 19 inmates of the rehabilitation centre underwent screening for Tuberculosis, HIV, Syphilis, Leprosy, Mental Health issues, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C. This integrated screening approach is aimed at facilitating early detection of health conditions, timely referral and linkage to appropriate treatment and long-term follow-up care. Following this launch, the Morigaon District Administration plans to extend this health camp initiative to five additional Old Age Homes and Rehabilitation Centres across the district.
This initiative reiterates the commitment of the Morigaon District Administration to strengthen inclusive and integrated healthcare services. By focusing on early detection, prevention, and continuity of care, the administration aims to uplift and safeguard the health of vulnerY and marginalized sections of society.
